Last Weekend at Hunter

On Friday we made the long trek up to Hunter Mountain. We made the 2 1/2 hour trip in record time: only about 4 hours and7 stops! The last stop was because the van had overheated. Apparently aircraft carriers and mountains don't get along very well.

I didn't know coolant could boil.

We were the first to get to the house. Jeremy and Ann were about 1/2 hour behind us, and we didn't see U.S. and A. E. until about 11 pm. Since it was far to late to start any games then, we just reminisced. . . until about 5 am.

When we woke up the next afternoon, (I mean morning, of course,) we played a Puerto Rico Tournament. Mark won his game, I won mine. After another round to see who the black horse would be, we started the finals. Mark beat me by one point! I could have won, but I miscalculated who I was playing against, and made the wrong move on the last turn. I could have won the Puerto Rico tournament; I'm sure it will haunt me for the rest of my life!

. . . or at least another week.

We also played several another games, including pounce, won by Ann, and the second game by me, despite Mark's attempts to sabotage me.
Over the weekend, I confirmed my suspicion that I will never win any medals at pool, darts, or Foosball. (Unless they started giving out medals to people that come in so far behind they feel bad for them?)

On Sunday afternoon, before packing up, Timothy attempted to blow out 13 candles on an ice cream cake. (Can't believe I caught that on camera. He only did it for a split second!)
Then, there was one last game. Not sure what you call it, but Mark was the champion. Playing with a Fooseball, he was undefeated until. . .

they tried the pool ball. He started laughing too hard to blow.

Thank you, Uncle Steve and Aunt Ellen, for a thoroughly enjoyable weekend, particularly so since Uncle Steve didn't win any board games!
